This page is not Valid (no Doctype found)!

| I ve tried every which way - to have W3C actaully accept this page. What do I
do? does it really matter?
No Character Encoding Found! Falling back to UTF-8.
I was not able to extract a character encoding labeling from any of the
valid sources for such information. Without encoding information it is
impossible to reliably validate the document. I'm falling back to the "UTF-8"
encoding and will attempt to perform the validation, but this is likely to fail
for all non-trivial documents.

| Use this for your character encoding:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
If you need a doctype most likely this one will work for you:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

| Any page you create with DW will already have the correct encoding
specified. Was this page created with DW?

| That's good. Do you also have a charset declared?
Why not just show me your code?

IMBW, but I thought the charset encoding refers to the page's textual
content...not markup.
