hey all. my wife created an awesome template for my airsoft team's website
that i'm building. the only thing stopping me from finishing it is that i
don't know how to stretch the template. here's the site:

http://www.gru-sv8.com

everytime i add content, the site breaks up. i've tried the tutorial on how
to slice and do the css style but it hasn't worked. can someone help me please?

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="860">

There's your problem. Your design is set to be 860px wide.
If you want to have a flexible layout, you will need to work with 100%
width, which means you will need to redo your site in DW not in FWs.

You will need to slice all your images and place them into table / cells in
dreamweaver.
If you go to this tutorial it will teach you how to build a 'flexible table'
layout - you may have to rethink the way you have laid out the page ....

i understand where that tutorial is going, but my thing is that i use FW to
turn my stuff into html. and eveyrthing works fine after i do that but i don't
know how to actually stretch my template. basically, stretch the outside
silver bars and the background image. maybe we're talking about different
things or what you're trying to show me is the answer, but for some reason it's
not making sense to me.
