Hi,

I am trying to use DW 6.1 to modify/dev a PHP mysql website.
In attempting to set up the site in DW trying to connect to database.

When I click on the Test button, I get "An Unidentifed [sic] error as occurred"
Of course if I ignore and attempt to proceed, e.g. by creating a record insert
form or such, also get the error messge.

So, seriously how do I connect to the database?

Check with your hosting providers. There are some that do not allow remote mysql connections. Contact them for more information.

Hi again SnakEyez,

Should have been clearer.

I am connecting to my Mac Mac OS X 10.4.2 running mysql 4.1.13, so there is no
remote host to connect to.

In addition, I can connect to the db using other programs.

And again, it is local, on my computer.

Thanks.

I tried te suggestions here:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/k...cfm?id=tn_16515

No luck (typed in a big long response, more details & MM timedout my session -
and it all got lost)

DW 6.1
Mac OS X 10.4.2
PHP 5.0.4
MySQL 4.1.13
Apache: 1.3.33 (Darwin)

Site is set up to edit & test locally (no remote involved)
The site works, that is pages load/run, db accessed, etc., it is just with
this connection to db, can't use any of the coding, design, editing features -
which makes coding harder.

Anybody have a clue how to get this running.

PS: When I say I tried the suggestions on the link, I have tried them several
times, various ways etc.
Only thing I have not done is turn on error logs in PHP, anybody know how?

Thanks
