Hi All

I use Dreamweavers FTP to upload pages to my website. When I select the Put
option my CPU's usage flies up to 100%, the mouse goes jerky and any music that
is playing slows down. This has only happened in the last couple of months and
I am really confused as to why. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Andy

Are you using Passive FTP?

I have tried with this option checked and unchecked. When it is unchecked files
upload but with the problems I've mentioned. When checked the problems start
when it is trying to connect then I just get a Waiting To Connect option and
eventually times out. Can I also add that I have Norton Internet Security 2005
installed.

Perhaps, there is an issue with your firewall. I usually check the Passive
FTP checkbox in Site definitions and it works fine after that.

Well as I said the same thing happens when it is trying to connect (in passive) and then it just times out.

So disable Norton and try it with Passive FTP again. If that works then
uncheck the Passive FTP option. Norton is a serious hindrance in trying to
troubleshoot such things.
