Okay I am new with DW, but I know that it has a built in FTP program. I am done
with my website and ready to publish it. What do I need to do first? I know i
have to do the website domain name, etc. but I really dont know where to start.
If I purchase the domain name does it let me host it? Or do I need to pay
another service to do webhosting? yes im a noobie as u can all tell. But any
suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try www.godaddy.com to register a domain name and you can host with them or
with some other webhost. I mention this registrar because it is fairly good
and inexpensive. Then all you need to do is to "Put" i.e. upload your files
with DMX to your site.

As JS suggested, you will need a host that gives you space to upload your
files to.

Lots of hosts out there - depends on what server model you are after.
Here's some that are often recommended;
www.webstrikesolutions.com
www.crystaltech.com
www.chicagowebs.com
www.hostmysite.com

I got a ftp host and directory from my class that I am taking but I have a hard
time connecting to the server. My teacher said that it was b/c I was using a
wireless connection when I tried in class and that the server there has tight
security and firewall. But when I brought it back home I still could not get it
to work. It says that the server is not responding and "wating for servert" ..
then it says "Dreamweaver cannot connect to remote server. What is the problem?
