| I have installed the macromedia suite several times. The programs will not open. I have tried trashing the preferences and caches to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

| Are you using Windows or Mac?
What version?
What error (if any)?

| Whoops, that would be helpful to know. I am using OS 10.3.9 on a g5. The
dreamweaver version is MX. And I don't get any type of error message. It acts
like it is going to load but then it doesn't. Does that help?

| Try running a fix permissions/fix disk from the OS X cd and see if that helps.
Also be sure that there are NO extensions listed as installed on the
extensions manager because I have come across a few extensions that cause the
problem you are experiencing.

| Hey its me again. I tried what you suggested but that did not seemed to work.
Also, OS 10 does not seem to have an extensions manager that I know about. If
it does, then where is it? Should I try reinstalling the suite again?

| Have you read through this:

or search for another tech note relating to your exact OS...
If nothing works, then I suggest you use your free support ticket to contact

I am having a similar problem, but only with Dreamweaver. I purchased,
downloaded and installed Studio MX a couple of years ago, and everything worked
fine, that was under Windows 2000 Professional. But then one day my Windows
installation was corrupted by bad printer drivers (oh Brother!) and I decided
instead to install Windows XP Professional, which I did, but into a different
partition. So I had to reinstall all my software too. I have today tried to
reinstall the Studio MX software, including Dreamweaver 6.1, but it only gets
as far as the splash screen and no further when I try to run it. I read on the
site to try the Dreamweaver 6.1 Updater, which I downloaded and installed, but
that did not help.
The other programs in Studio MX all work fine, it is only Dreamweaver that
crashes.
Also note that my Windows XP Professional has SP1a installed, not SP2.
