| I have been having trouble connecting to one of my sites via
Dreamweaver.:confused; If I put the host folder information in, I just get an
error saying: An FTP error occurred - cannot get remote folder information.
Access denied. The file may not exit or there could be a permission problem.
If I take the host folder out, and then connect it connects successfully and in
my remote file list I can see what should be the host folder. If I then try to
open the host folder I get the same error: An FTP error occurred - cannot get
remote folder information. Access denied. The file may not exit or there could
be a permission problem My host provider assures me that everything is working
correctly. The strange thing is, if I connect to the site using the ftp URL,
it works fine. Is there something on the server that my host should do or on
my settings that I have missed. I have tried with and without passive, with
and without secure. And this is the only site I have these problems on. Any
help would be most appreciated - thanking in advance :lips;

| I have the same problem (note that passive or non-passive ftp have already been
tried and make no difference).
The manage sites test connection connects properly. I can upload files using
the upload command. I can upload using a different ftp client. I can see the
files using a different ftp client. I just can't see the remote files using DW.
It tells me "An ftp error occurred. Cannot get remote folder information. The
server gave an unknown response."
I can work around this but still - what if I can't someday?
