| im not sure i made myself clear- sorry. I
i want the new window that opens to be smaller than my main window. this is so
that users can still see the remaining thumbnails on the main screen, and then
can click these aswell, causing the image in the new window to change each
time, without opening another window again and again, so that I am re-using the
same smaller window in an area of the screen that I know is not going to
obscure my other thumbnail links.

Okay, so you *do* want a new window for the pics. Use the free extension
called Open Picture Window Fever:
