I am updating a website that uses a dreamweaver template for a lot of its
layout. I have adjusted a few things in the template and they have all
previewed in dreamweaver but the files that are calling the template are not
using the updated template file? Can someone help me out with this? Thanks.

On the web, you mean?

Your question is not entirely clear. Is the site live? Are the things you're
not seeing images or other files that were visible before?

It's always best to give a URL.

Templates only control your local files while you are in DW. They have no
effect on the Remote server.

You make your changes to the template, it changes the local files, and then
you upload the local files to the server.

Usually, DW will pop a dialog asking if you want to update the pages based upon the template. Did this happen?

If so, have you transferred your local, updated webpage files to your www server?

The site isnt live but its basically everything not showing up. All of the
changes I make in the template file do not show up on the index file etc. Its
not just images, its everything. I update some dates, articles, images, links,
drop down menus, none of these changes showed up in the other html pages that
are calling the template file.

Are you sure all of these things are in noneditable regions? (Menus and such
certainly should be.)

Tim:

He/she is thinking templates work like SSI.
