Author table or hotspot

I am about to start creating pages on my web site. I want to put between 9 and
33 small pictures on pages which when you click the picture, it takes you to
another page showing a larger image. I have 2 options that I think might work.
Firstly, I could make a table of 3 columns and a number of rows. I could then
insert a small picture and hyperlink it to bigger picture page. Secondly, I
could create a fireworks document with all the small pictures and create
hotspots for the links. I think this would load quicker (I may be wrong) but
may be more difficult to co-ordinate. One other question, when I click small
picture I want to link to a page which pops up without any other links and only
a close button which takes you back to where you were. I hope this makes sense
- my brains are getting a bit scrambled by all of this but I am hoping that a
little extra effort will get results. once again, many thanks to all who
replied to previous posts, especially my friend from south of the border.

I think I have sorted first part of question. I used Fireworks with hotspots to
link to pages and file size was fairly low - about 59k. Just the other question
to answer now, when I click small picture I want to link to a page which pops
up without any other links and only a close button which takes you back to
where you were. thanks in advance Michael from Scotland
