Author Viewing CSS from a virtual directory

As a group we can use 2 templates then "save as template" into our own websites
(folders). These templates are based on a virtual directory for common files
such as; css, js, images, etc. When we use DW to update our sites we cannot
see the results of this directory locally, is there a way to do that? Case in
point we'd like to be able to wysiwyg the CSS in all our sites but cannot
unless we move that file locally and that's not a good way.

Side note - we use VSS a development and customer area - is there any way to
attached all of these in one site so i don't have to worry about which area i'm
working in?

THANKS!
