Author Access error checking files in

When I try to check a file in i receive an error that states - "cannot put
filename.cfm. Access is denied. My environment is two developers working on
source code in a remote folder that is defined to a remote server on our
network. Access is defined as Local/Network. We have enabled file check in and
check out.

Any ideas as to what may be set up incorectly or needed to correct this
problem?
