using a software program through a web page

| Is it possible to use a software program through a web page? What I am trying
to achieve is a user logs in with name & password, then a page opens and
the software program loads into the webpage, allowing the user to use the
program as if it were running on their hard drive? Do I need to embed the .exe
file into the web page? Perhaps this is the wrong approach, but is it possible
for someone to use a piece of software through a web page? Thanks for any
help, Darren

| its a custom made program that acts a a front end for an access database. The
user inputs and reads data from the database through the program. I'm tempted
to just bypass the front end and create a data driven web site using the access
data. But I want to explore this route first because it'll make my life easier

HELP JAVA JAVASCRIPT
===
Hi,
You need to be more specific regarding the application you would like to
host using a webpage. A normal application can not be run using a webpage
however you can create applications specifically for the Web using VB.NET,
Java etc as well as using scripting languages such as PHP, ASP etc etc.
What type of application are you trying to host? Is the application a
standard windows application?
