To save me hours of trying to achieve the impossible, is there a way of
inserting an image into a table and then putting a button on top. I don't think
it can be possible. I am trying to create a picture which covers the width of
the page and hace buttons on left hand side of picture. Cutting the picture
into two parts and putting hot-spots on left section would work I think but
there would be no effect created on mouseover. unless you know different, of
course. Why don't I just keep things simple? I don't know, I suppose it gives
you guys something to work on. thanks for all previous help - web-site will be
ready soon Michael from Scotland

A form button? Sure:

<div style="background: url('yourimage.gif')"><input type="submit"></div>

Well, unless you created a mouseover state and swap that with a behavior.

Make the image the background of the table and insert the buttons. Note,
however, that it is a lot easier to control div sizes than table sizes. It
can be done, but more work and more code.

Can it be done using div tags

div tags seem to be the new craze in web site building

Sure.

Huh? Frames? You are looking for the easy way out (considering that the
easy way is usually never the easy way)?

I would say not. I would say that the separation of content from
presentation is the right way to build web sites. I would say that CSS
positioning allows one to use that approach. I would say that positioned
containers (like div tags) is the most commonly used method of implementing
positioning on the page.
