Local server probs

| Cheers all,
Every time I try to set up a local server setup in DW ( MX2004) I have
problems.
The site is in:
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MYSITE
In the DW Site Definition for Testing Server I have:
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MYSITE
For the URL prefix which is the location of the sites root folder on the
testing server I have entered:
http://localhost/MYSITE/
Amongst other problems, when I open the index.asp and preview it in a browser
the page does come up, IE whether I want to work online or not because this
page isn't available offline, but I have no internet connection on the test
computer so I choose "Work Offline". So, after a few slugs back and forth with
IE, he page finally comes up. Now every link on the page to the other pages is
unaccessible because I'm "working offline". The mouse has a circle with the
line through it indicating I'm "offline". Isn't this the purpose of a local
test server to not have to be connected?
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Thank you, Jimmy

| You don't need an Internet connection to view http://localhost/. What's with
this "offline" stuff?

| Well, you just answered my question with my question, lol. Exactly, what's with
the "offline" stuff? If I plug in the internet connection I am able to browse
around the site on my test server, but if the internet connection is unplugged
I have to use the "Work Offline" to view the pages and when I do it disables
the mouse with the circle indicating that I am offline.
