Database connection

| I am frustrated about the Dreamweaver MX2004. Don't get me wrong. I like the
design features a lot, but when it comes to database and coding, there is so
much to learn to get it to work (unless you are using it with Coldfusion.) My
problem started with Access database connection. I thought I connected my
database correctly (test connection was OK). But, I could find any tables or
queries from. I used Microscoft Jet driver 4.0. No matter what I tried, I only
get 'none' when I drill down. The database works fine when I used VS.NET
studio. I even copied and pasted the same connection string to the Dreamweaver
MX2004 database connection wizard. I only passed the test database connection
stage. No tables ... Please help. Maybe something about file sharing on my XP
professional box that I have to set? Anybody?

| I posted a reply on the appdev forum, but basically you are probably runnig
into some problems caused by the XP SP2 update. Have a look at this technote
as it describes and provides a fix for the problems you are having

| Hi Paul,
I have the same problem, but the "fix" that you refer to does not work. In my
case, I updated to 7.0.1 some time ago, and when I apply the extension the
problem still exists.
However, we have 7.0 in our student labs and the fix DOES work there. I think
that there is a problem if you have previously applied the update to 7.0.1.
I have an outstanding support request with Macromedia on this, and let me say
that the response so far has been VERY POOR.
I'm not happy, and I suspect that there are a lot of other confused people out
there who are banging their heads against a brick wall trying to get database
connections to work.
And by the way, even this fix only fixes the problem with the Tables showing
NONE. It does not fix the problem with the Build button.
