Author Template/Browser issues

I'm new to DW and find it exciting to use vs FP. What a difference!!!

I recently reworked my theater company's website which has been around
forever, and am having a small problem with the appearance in IE and
Firefox.
It renders well in Firefox, but in IE, there is a small 1-2 px space between
the top 2 images and the body space where the background image shows thru.
I looked for spaces or additional lines in the template and found nothing.
The thin white line is part of the images. There is nothing else in that
editable region.

I would appreciate any comments on the new style & colors too.
The site is www.bcfootlighters.com
I know, I got a long way to go with CSS. Also, is layer positioning a hit
and miss situation in design view?
Thanks,
Rick
