Dreamweaver - navigation bar

I have a really basic question regarding Dreamweaver 3.

I have a really simple site, which is done in tables and I want to insert a
navigation bar on the left side. How would I do this? I am not looking to do
something really fancy but just some sort of basic navigation bar or scheme,
in which I can put a list of links.

I would like to do this in a way that just inserts it over on the left
without disrupting the tables too much. Maybe I could move my tables over a
little to the right to make room for the bar.
