Help please - someone out there!?

I am completely new to Dreamweaver.

My brother loaded a site from his version of Dreamweaver (MX2004). When I try
to update / upload changes to single pages from my version of Dreamweaver
(Version 6.1) I get a status message "Wating for server" - although I am
connected into the site. I can see all the remote files in Dreamweaver - I just
can't do any changes from my local view up to the remote view.

I then get another error message saying "Searching for Host" and then it quits
and disconnects me from the remote site.

Any ideas about what the problem might be?

Your help would be very much appreciated.

You say you are connected to that site, but if you get an error message
that says "searching for host" something's wrong.

1)open the site definition. You should have info for:

host server:
directory path: (not required)
username:
password:

Are you sure that this info is correct? How did you get it? If you are
sure it is right and you feel you are connected properly...

2) click the test button in the remote info category and what does it say?

3) if you get anything except a success message, try clicking the
Passive FTP option if it isn't selected. If it *is*, then uncheck it.

4) Try the test button again.
