| What is your local OS? XPPro? Why not have your testing server on your
local system?

I believe this would only affect remote testing servers.
I make my testing server root folder and my local root folder the same
folder. I then share the root folder to the "web" using Explorer's Folder
Properties, and IIS works quite well like this.

| Benefit? Dreamweaver works best with local files....
It's the only way I have ever done testing servers (well, until recently
when I started using PHP).

| I feel like we are going in circles! Why doesn't having the testing server
at the local site work for you?

Yes.
If the internet is down, you are hosed in any event. But I solve this
problem by having my site definition on the remote system use the localhost
on that system as the testing server. When I need to make some changes when
I am working remotely, I connect to the production site, download the
desired files, edit and test "locally" to that system, and then upload.
Or am I still missing something?

| I recommend you contact Macromedia directly and use one of your one-on-one
support incidents.
