unwanted dialup problem

| Does anyone have a Fix for an unwanted dialup problem that comes on when I
access DW mx 2004 on laptop? I have installed the latest security software
(antivirus, spybot, adware, etc.) and all are up-to-date! I've reinstalled DW
software. Using msconfig, I am eliminating one service at a time to identify
which program is the culprit, but so far no success. I am uninstalling all
recent downloads, one at a time; e.g., Windows Media Player version 110 &
others. Other forums (Dell, Roxio,etc.) have provided no useful information as
yet. My last resort, I'm told, is to re-format hard drive, but I want to leave
that as the LAST resort at this time. Any help will be much appreciated. drC

| Problem: Unwanted Modem Dialup window appears repeatedly on DW screen when I
open DW mx 2004. Not sure this problem related directly to Dreamweaver;
presently trying to identify if problem is associated with DW. It may not be;
so, I thought I'd ask Forum users if anyone has had this particular problem
with DW. drC

| Try closing the ANSWERS panel. Then stop the default start page that
automatically goes online to look for updates and such. (go to Preferences >
General and uncheck Document Options 'Show start page'). Close Dreamweaver,
start up, and pray.

| Folks,
Thanks for offering to help. I've decided to stop looking for a FIX to
"Unwanted Dialup Problem." Everything I have tried has failed to solve the
problem. I intend to save some of my files, ReFormat the Hard Drive, & install
only the needed software. Thanks & Adios... drC
