Please don't laugh. Help fill in the form to upload files upon saving.
Testing server works fine. testing "remote site" gives me: "an FTP error
occured. Cannot make connection to host. The remote host cannot be found"
The host says to put / for the "host directory"
To log in their "site manager" I use a name but they ask to use a member
number for login. I tried both.
Any ideas?
Thanks

what is your ftp address? If the error message is:
"...The remote host cannot be found"

it means this address is wrong.

My FTP address is: http://freeftp.bravehost.com
Why would "testing server" work and not "remote info"? What about :
Use passive FTP
Use firewall
Use SSH encrypted login?:confused;
Thank you,

did you try:
freeftp.bravehost.com
yoursite.bravehost.com

and above all, what did bravehost tell you to use?

what did you put in the 'testing server' box? didn't you put a local address?
Testing server is usually used to test dynamic sites locally (on your computer). Are you doing
something different?

who knows? bravenet does, and they should have sent you all this info when you applied for an
account with them.

Are you certain?

This sounds like a generic address rather than a specific FTP address for
your website.

Double check this with Bravehost.

google.

http://www.k7mem.com/My_Bravenet_FA...tp.html#Answer8

most likely, the problem is that you are trying to type in
http://freeftpetcetera into a line for an FTP address.
Don't type the http:// and don't type ftp://

Just type the address.
freeftp.bravehost.com
