| i have read that there is no anti-aliasing in MX2004 DW. What about the
newer version?
or, in the alternative, does mac render this closer to original text from a
graphic? I guess it would still look choppy on PCs, eh?

Mac OSX uses anti-aliasing for nearly all text (down to 8px small).
Windows does not.
It is not a Dreamweaver issue.
But it does make designing a web page on a mac quite deceptive, because you will most likely be
horrified when you see it on a PC.
