dear all,

please help me, lately I keep on getting this error message "dreamweaver mx The instruction at "0x5ad71531" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read"". this happens every time I want to delete a file off or want to switch to another site directly or via managing sites?

is there anybody who can help me with this? I also tried to recash the whole site but nothing seems to work.

kind regards,
René

What is your OS? When did this start happening? Which version of MX - 6.0
or 6.1? If the former, please update to the latter using the updater at the
MM site.

(please just post in plain text - not HTML)

Does this always happen, or is it intermittant? Does it depend on which
site you are working in, or which file you are editing?

it happens constantly, no matter what site im working on, even worse I cant
even switch to another site at the moment because mx will crash.

Just so you don't confuse me, please refer to this version as MX2004, or MX4
or something to distinguish it from DMX, its predecessor.

You can try this simple fix -

Quit DW.

Find this folder -

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration
(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use Explorer > Tools >
Folder Options to unhide them)

and rename it (say "xConfiguration").

Restart DW. Works better?
