Author Help please re: pop up menus

hello,

Please can someone help regarding pop up menus.

Ive made a frame with quite a few links and associated pop up windows in
previous release of dreamweaver
I have since installed version 8.

I want to copy all the information on the previous frame to a new one in
Dreamweaver 8. When I do I simple cut and paste it carries the main links but
the pop up menus register bit dont contain the same information (in fact they
contain nothing).
Ive tried paste special (no luck)

Is there an easy way of getting it across?
Alternatively, can I just name the old frame to that of the new one and the
frameset grabs this old one? Or even convert the fold rame to new version (if
this is where the problem lies?)

Otherwise, all suggestions gratefully recieved.

Many thanks

You are mixing two bad things trying to make something better. Avoid frames.
Avoid DW's built in fly-out menu system. Do those, and you'll find things
MUCH easier.

For frames, we can suggest alternatives depending on what, specifically, you
were using frames for (often, there just isn't a need for them at all, and
that becomes the alternative).

As for fly-out menus, these are both very robust and easy to implement:

http://www.udm4.com (quite accessible, a bit pricey, lots of code)
http://www.projectseven.com (fairly accessible, nicely priced, including
tutorials on how to build it for free)
