putting *part* of an editable region back into template markup
|

| Don't know if that title makes sense, but here's what I want to do:
In my main editable region, I have a spot on the bottom that I want to
update across every page (it will always be the same). Thus, I would like
that portion to be a non-editable region. Any way I can accomplish this
without removing my present editable region and reinstating it with a
smaller area? (I'm frankly terrified of messing around with things like
that!)
Thanks!

| But honestly, there's no problem with just relocating the bottom of the
editable region markup.

| Why not make it a Library item or a server-side include?

Just cut and paste the "End Editable Region" code you mean?

Yes, I would guess so! Thanks!

| Hm. Everywhere I put it, the code is giving me exclamation marks and messing
my formatting....
Obviously, there are limits to where you can end an editable region. I am
assuming that the "end" has to match the "begin" - is that my problem? I
have the editable region beginning in a "master table," so if I don't have
the end point at the end of the table, it will mess things up?

| It must be properly nested, of course. Show me your code....

| Thanks, Murray. It was a relatively small site, so I just did it via library
item. Still nervous with messing around with the template code that
automatically gets generated.
Thankfully, I didn't have this problem on my other sites - the part I wanted
to change wasn't in an editable region.
