| Hi there, Can anyone please offer some adivice on eCommerce (using a 3rd Party
Payment Provider such as World Pay) and Contribute. What I mean is I want to
create an eCommerce site that uses Contribute to enable easy updates to the
catalogue. Can anyone tell me if this kind of thing is possible? i.e would my
client be able to update products, prices ..etc all from within contribute? Or
does this kind of functionality require a database of some kind? If you know
of any 'off the shelf shopping carts' that would work when combined with
Contribute please tell me. Best regards PHiL

| Hi Phil
Updating a catalog/shopping cart site with contribute would require the site
to be static. Contribute doesn't support dynamic content. Depending on the
number of products you have this could be come very cumbersome. Contribute
can be used to tie into PayPal, and this seems to work pretty well for sites
that just sell a few items. This extension can be found on the Macromedia
exchange. If you are going to have a number of products, I would suggest a
cart system that includes a full dynamic admin back end. There are a number
of carts listed at
http://www.macromedia.com/software/.../ecomm_ext.html
Hope this helps.
