copy and paste quirk

| skeough 2005-01-31, 12:55 pm |
| hello all.
is this something anyone else has noticed, or is it something w/ my
settings? I do a lot of copying text from microsoft office programs and
pasting them into a page in DWMX2004. Certain words show up with a space in
them - usually before "art" (i.e. "part" becomes "p art", etc.). Is there
a way to avoid this? I'm copying a lot of text, so re-keying the whole
thing in DW is out of the question.
Thanks!
Stephanie

| In the meantime, try using "paste text" or pasting into Notepad first, then
copy/paste to DW. It would certainly be better than retyping everything.

I have to proofread my pastes from Word very carefully.

| If you have formatting that you want to preserve, however, you are hung on
the horns of a dilemma here. I just bite the bullet and proof the copy....

Notwithstanding clients' documents innaccuracies, there's always
http://www.stevemiller.net/puretext/
to miss out the via-Notepad stage.

| Just the other day, I had a full client give me a 75 page Word doc that they
wanted to have on their site. Needless to say, it was a huge pain to go
thru the whole damn thing. I tried the copy to Notepad idea...no worky. So,
I tried another route. I converted the .doc to .pdf - then copied ans
pasted.

As long as you're charging by the hours, it's the client's problem. ;-)
