Dreamweaver Site Replacing a Frontline Site
|
|
| fault line 2005-01-24, 11:16 pm |
| Hello, I'm anxious. I now have a Frontline site hosted by earthlink at
faultlinestudio.com. I have almost finished making a Dreamweaver site, same
name, to replace the Frontline site. I remember stuff I didn't (still don't)
understand about "Frontline extensions." Because of those existing extensions
(?), or anything else, will I have problems replacing one kind of site with
another? I don't want to end up with of two sites all jumbled together. I will
appreciate any advice (please remember I'm a novice) Thanks, Don :music;

| If you replace one site with another, there will be no problem.

Do you mean FrontPage?
Do you intend to work on this with FrontPage in the future, or only use
Dreamweaver?
Have you defined the remote info to connect to earthlink with dreamweaver?
once you have done that, open the F8 Site Manager window.
click the Connect button.
Select the remote files, and right-click on them to pick Delete.
Now select the local files, and click PUT at top of window.

| Will FrontPage EVER touch this site again? If so, please step away from the
keyboard! 8)

| Thanks to all for your responses. I guess I wasn't totally clear. No, I don't
ever intend to use Front Page again. Only Dreamweaver. I'm not sure what it
means to "... define the remote info to connect to Earthlink with Dreamweaver."
Thanks for your patience, Don

| Open Dreamweaver. Press F1. Read about how to define a site. Enter the
site connection information for the remote site, and specify the location of
the local site's root folder. Connect to the remote site. That's where you
should select and get all the files.
