Very much beginner, question on menus

| I haven't coded any HTML in over 7 years, and that was in Notepad, so I
apologize in advance for having no idea what I'm doing here.
I'm giving Dreamweaver MX 2004 a test run, and in looking at the design
templates I am quite fond of the Halo - Left Nav CSS template. I'm trying to
create a basic website for myself and my family that doesn't look like a
FrontPage theme template (yuck). I have published a copy of this template to
the following URL to try to help illustrate what I'm looking to do:
http://userdata.acd.net/grover.joe/web/index.htm
What I would like to accomplish is this: When clicking on the "Category 1"
button in the nav menu I would like the "Category 1 results" box to appear
below it, pushing the rest of the Category buttons down below it. If you were
to then click on the "Category 2" button, the "Category 1 results" box would
collapse and the "Category 2 results" box would appear below the "Category 2"
button, again pushing subsequent buttons down below that.
Am I totally off-base in thinking that's what this template was designed for?
When I eyeballed it that's what I thought it was going to do for me with a
minimal amount of fuss, but after poking at it a little bit and publishing to
the above URL, that isn't what it wants to do for me at all. Since I clearly
have a problem describing what it is I want, and current coding jargon eludes
me, it's pretty difficult to just try to Google an answer.
Any pointers or hints are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Joe

| Joe:
You may find this article a help in working with that page layout -
http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx...cting_halo.html
Be aware that the navigation system used in that layout is flawed. If you
scroll the page vertically by 20 or 30 pixels so that the menu is still
visible at the top, it stops working.
