Why is it so difficult to work with color Coding?

| Because Homesite doesn't support UTF8, I was forced into upgrading to
Dreamweaver MX.... But now I can't get color coding to work.. With HomeSite I
was able to get my application servers tags quickly entered into the app, and
quickly choose the proper coloring for them..
With Dreamweaver, I have to hand edit multiple XML files, and read a 30 page
PDF document on which attributes are required or not to make sure my Color
Coding XML Files conform to the schema. I've already screwed it up once, and
had to re-install....
There has to be a better way. XML is a good format, but I'm not sure it was
meant to be human readable/editable.. Does MM or any third parties have apps
that make it easier to get color coding to work with DreamWeaver MX?

Well, actually, XML should be human readable if written well ;o)
Have you tried using a visual XML editor? There aren't a lot of great ones,
but they should all be better than editing by hand. I use 'Microsoft XML
Notepad' for some basic edits.
