I have just been editing a page in dreamweaver. The original page had a data
table with many rows. I have merged the cells, cut the text out of the
remaining cell, deleted the table, pasted and reformated the text. It looks
great in design view but when I preview it the table cells are still there.
Returning to design view and running my mouse over the page. No references to
tables appear in the bar at the bottom of the page. There is no table there.
However, in code view all the table code still exists!!

What's going on? What should I do. Have just spent half an hour doing this
and am reluctant to have to start again.

If the source shows a table, then there's a table. Can you post the page
your having problems with for us to look at?

Either remove the <tr>, </tr>, <td>, and </td> tags in code view or with
find and replace, or maybe try the "Clean up HTML" feature under "Commands."
You may also try clicking on the table border and looking in the properties
Inspector and seeing how may rows and columns it contains, and reset both to
1.
