IF you leave the "host directory line blank, Can you connect?
Open the F8 Site Manager window, and click Connect.

If yes, what shows in the Remote side now?

what is the list of folders showing?

also- Does your hosting have a FAQ/support section at their site?
Does it give this info? some FAQ about uploading or Ftp info?

Try using www.mywebsite.com for the FTP host field.
