"Reverse" Link Check
|
|
|
| Hi-
DW MX 2004 on a Compaq Presario laptop. I have a PDF file located in a
subdirectory about four directory levels below the root directory of my site.
Is there any way to select the PDF file (possibly as a dependent file?) and
then do a "reverse" check to see which HTML files in the rest of the site are
linked to it? DW doesn't seem to have this feature, however, I remember it
being available in old HTML editors like Adobe PageMill from about seven years
ago, so I assume DW must have it somewhere.
Thanks.

P.S.- I tried to do this using the Site View but all it shows is the PDF file
as being present in the site and not which HTML files in the site are linked to
it.

The HTML files containing the link will have the code: href="myfile.pdf".
So do a Sitewide search for that snippet of code Edit > Find and Replace >
Find All
(That's for DW MX 2004. Other versions may vary as to where the Find All
command is).
