| Leslie:
You copied the files from a CD, did you?
Just use Finder to unset the Read only attribute on the files.

| Well, the instructions seem rather convoluted. I need to work on a site that
was given to me on a CD-ROM. That's it, no FTP, HTTP, webbot etc. The CD
folder structure seems to be the same as that which would be found on a
webserver and I don't believe it was written in FronPage. The CD is the only
access I have to the website data.
I am a newbie with a trial version of DW and I would like to try it on my own
site in addition to the tutorial.
Thanks

| Are you referring to a post that was made originally on May 2? That post
was specifically about a site made in FP.
In your case, you can just copy the files from the CD to a folder on your
hard drive, create a DW site definition that points to that folder as the
root folder, and start editing the pages.
The only thing you'll have to worry about is whether the files copied from
the CD are locked (Read only), but that is easy enough to fix in the file
properties.
