Problems with Frames and Links
|
|
| MegaDaz 2004-08-31, 12:15 pm |
| Hello. Please Help.
I have recently developed a frame page in dreamweaver. It is uploaded as :
http://www.musicapp.com/BandsIndex1Frameset.html
I am using imagemaps in all 3 frames. The imagemap links work fine from the
navigator frame to the target frame which is Content. The problem is as soon
as you click a link in the navigator frame none of the links set up in the
content frame work. The cursor doesn't even recognise them as links.
Advice is necessary... Please help.
Thanks

It looks like most of the links in your navigation frame are to .jpg
images. There are a couple of links that open html pages in a new
browser windows. Only the last link, Two Day Rule, opens an html page in
the content frame and there are no links in that page. Exactly what is
supposed to have a link in it?

| Thanks for your reply Gary.
All the links in the navigation bar are to jpegs in the content frame.
I have used dreamweaver to place imagemaps over those jpegs.
The imagemap looks sound in dreamweaver and I have done it the same as
throughout the entire site.
When you preview the site or upload it the imagemaps just aren't there.
The imagemaps work when you open the content jpegs on there own in preview
mode.
When you open the image as part of the frameset the imagemap is not there.
Please help.

| Ain't gonna happen.
An image map is only defined in HTML. It is not part of the image. If you
are linking directly to the image, you will not get the maps. The only way
to get them is to link to the HTML page containing both the image, and the
image map definition.
