Hi all,

I want to include the meta tags in my site for indexing in search engines.
It's an ASP page.

What i want to know is if you have to put them only on the default.asp page
OR
insert them on every page which I publish.

I don't want every page to be indexed. I only require my default page.

Cheers

Well I think I'm right in saying this, but wait for further replies.

If you are only interested in having the search engines find your 'index /
home' page, only put the meta tags on your 'index / home' page.

On all the pages that you don't want indexing include the following within the
'head',

<meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow">

I'm somewhat of a newbie here, somebody may correct me.

a robots.txt file, uploaded to yuor root directlory would also help serve this purpose.

Good luck

Read this to get the right information. Meta tags are mostly only
peripherally useful anymore -
