Missing buttons in Insert panel
|
|
| Danielle Kunowski 2004-08-26, 12:22 pm |
| I am currently viewing a dvd video tutorial that teaches dreamweaver. I have
noticed that in the tutorial the presenter has extra buttons and panels on
his "insert" toolbar that I do not have when I open dreaweaver. For example
he has a tab called "media" which contains a button to insert flash, flash
buttons, flash text, shockwave etc.
Can I add these elements to my ³insert² bar as well? Iım not sure why he has
them and I donıt. I am working with Dreamweaver MX 2004 on Mac OSX (same as
the presenter). I do still can use these functions but I have to go up to
the pull down menus along the top of the screen but if they were in the
Insert panel it would be more convenient.
Thanks,
Danielle

| Sorry DiMa, I couldn't find any replies when I checked back. I must have
missed some. I will check this out on the net where the thread are grouped
together instead of in my newsreader I think.

| Ok, I found them in my newsreader... not sure why they weren't showing
before. Doesn't explain Google, but maybe I need more sleep? :-)

| Hi Danielle,
Since you're still having trouble, I'll paste my reply in your other thread
here:
Dreamweaver MX has a Media tab, Dreamweaver MX 2004 does not. If the
presenter is in fact using Dreamweaver MX 2004, they should not have a Media
tab unless they've installed extensions that added that category.
The Insert Flash Button, Flash Text, Flash Media and other objects found in
the Insert> Media menu in Dreamweaver MX 2004, are now located in the Common
category of the Insert bar located in the Media popup menu. If you've never
used the Media menu, an icon that looks like a green triangle, orange-red
circle and yellow square designate this menu. It is the icon to the left of
the Date object (that looks like a calendar showing number 19).
One way to know for certain if the presenter is using MX 2004 is to look at
the Document toolbar. If you see the words Code, Split, and Design adjacent
to their respective icons, it is Dreamweaver MX 2004. If you don't, it
isn't.
Hope that helps!
~Angela

| Sorry DiMa, I'm having trouble searching through all the post to find
replies! The only one I have been able to find suggested (from what I
understood) changing the layout of the insert panel from Menu to tab layout
but changing the layout of the panel didn't have any effect on what elements
are shown In the panel.

| For my newsreader I'm using Microsoft Entourage for the mac.. The newsreader
is faster but I don't know how to sign up for threads so I have to sift
through every single post to find replies to threads I'm interested in. I
can filter posts so that I only see ones with particular words in the
subject line but if someone happens to reply with something different
written in the subject line then I won't catch it.
