| Hi, I have a website up but even though I have repeatibly submitted it to to
numerous search engines through those free submission sites, it still won't
come up when typed in search in those search engines. Is it all in the Meta
tags that gets your site on search engines? I have created my site in
Dreamweaver MX but my Meta tags look different to other sites. What should it
contain?
Thanks

What's your URL? It could be in how you built the site as well.

SE submission/indexing has changed quite dramatically. The only SE
that'll include your site for free nowadays is Google. But on the other
hand, they have implemented a "quarantine" period that lasts something
like 2-4 months. No one really knows exactly. It's called "sandboxing",
and the reason could be that they're trying to figure out how "serious"
a site really is before actually including it.
The other major SEs (AltaVista, Yahoo, MSN, etc) will not include you
unless you pay, e.g. using the "Overture" program. If you chose not to
pay, you'll need to have incoming links from other sites that *are*
listed by them. If you're lucky, they'll then include it after 2-4
months, i.e. waiting time as the Google sandboxing, but these guys are
doing it to make you open your wallet and pay for the submission.
Bottom line: wait, wait and wait....
BTW: Don't use those free SE submission sites. All they want is your
e-mail address, and as you see above, they won't work anyway.

Works from here.

That means nothing, a server might ignore pings (by filtering ICMP
packets, some firewalls do that). But in this case the server responds.
You could try to ping 66.179.229.20.
