Open Browser Window (do not refresh main page)

| Hi all...I'm in need of help.
I'm making a gallery page in which a new browser window is opened displaying a
full sized photo when a thumbnail is clicked. My problem is, each time the new
window opens, it refreshes the main gallery page, so the viewer has to scroll
and locate the place he left off. What can I do to have the main gallery page
hold it's last position when a new browser window is opened??

| duktari,
Without seeing the page I will have to take a guess that you have applied a
# to the link of the open browser behavior. This will act as an anchor and
send your page to the top, it is not refreshing the page. To correct this
select the link or place your cursor in it and in the Dreamweaver Property
Inspector replace the # with java script:;

Just as little side note, using javascrpt:; or # is fine up until the
point when a user decides to turn off javascript.
I use this script [http://www.skyzyx.com/scripts/imagepop.php]
It uses the full path to the image as a link, and therefore allows
Javascript(less :) ) users see the pictures too :)
I used it on my own gallery: http://gordonmac.com/pics/
Hope that helps.

| Yep I agree. I like to answer in small steps to keep confusion down. He
could also use the one he is currently using by placing the full path for
the ( href ) link and place a return false; at the end of the function call.

| also- if you get the open browser window extension from fleevoware, and
apply it an existing regular link- it does that.

| Yes partly, but the original poster wanted to be able to center the popup as
well.

Okay. I missed that part of the thread. I usually send them to your site
for that.
