| I am sitting next to an unopened box of Dreamweaver MX 2004 for the Mac. I've
downloaded the trial version, and I can't get past step 1...I can't see
basic/advanced tabs on the site definition page. Is this just not available on
the mac? In searching for info on this, I've been a little scared reading
about the performance of Dreamweaver on a Mac. Is it that bad? Should I get
the PC version instead? i do all my photo/image editing on a mac, so I'd
really prefer to do everything in one place. Thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

I do not have any issues with the performance of MX04 on my Mac. Since
the 'updater' it performs to a level which is more than acceptable for
me, of course everyone has different experiences.
You should actually test-drive the trial version before parting with any
hard-earned cash unless of course its company cash, then you should'nt
care a jot, infact buy 2 and one for the cleaner as well :)

To be a little more helpful it should be a simple case of Site >Manage
Sites>New Site or Edit.
You should get a menu which has the 'basic' and 'advanced' tabs at the top

| When you start DW, you get a Start page. Click on the Dreamweaver Site...
link.
At the VERY top of the dialog panel you will see "Site Definition for
Unnamed Site 1" or something. Immediately under that you will see two
tabs - Basic and Advanced.

| Hi,
From menu on top of page choose > site > new site..
The site defs dialogue box pops up - right at the top in the centre are 2
tabs, basic and advanced.
I use on both mac and pc and have no problems with the mac version - the only
reason i use a pc sometimes is cos ms access is an easy way to make small
database driven sites compared to mysql which is free but hurts my brain.
