I have been using dw templates for quite a while.. and a problem that I havent
encountered before just appeared.

What happened was the following: I made changes to a template, saved it & had
dw update all pages that use the template. I then opened one of the pages that
use the template in dw.. and was happy to see that the changes were there (as
always). When I proceeded to check the page in exploreer (hitting the F12
button) however, the changes were not apparent.. thinking that the browser may
be using the cachee to get its information, I deleted the temporary internet
files, and refreshed the page.. again, again and again .. but to no avail.

The only way to make the changes that had been made to the template (non -
editable) part of the page visible in the browser, was interestingly to make
changes to the content within the Editable regions of the page before
publishing it.

Any ideas whats going on.. this has never happened before. Tried reebooting my
pc.. no help there.

Thanks,

T

I can't imagine. Can you show me the code on the template page and tell me
what you changed, please?

I dont think it can be anything that I did to the templte... the only thing I
did was to add a link to a navigation bar

... the only thing that I think may have a tiny chance of being related to the
problem is the fact that the templte that I am using is a copy of a template
that I created earlier for a "sister" site. The templte for the new site does
of course not affect the old site... as new site is completely separate from
the old one. And as mentioned in the first post.. the template does indeed
update the new pages that were created from it... it is only upon viewing them
in a browser that things dont work. So, I was wondering wether DW may have a
bug that somehow causes confusion when a temmplate is copied to a new site
folder?? Doesn't sound very likely, but I am struggling to understand what is
going on.

Nope. I do this frequently and it works fine. Without seeing your code, it
would be impossible to diagnose anything, however.

But let me understand again what the problem was - you could see the changes
in Design view, but they didn't appear in F12 preview? If so, this can only
be operator error, or a code issue.

You're welcome.

Things that spontaneously toggle between working and not working trouble me.
I have found an unusually high association of such events with operator
error, at least in my case. I suspect you might find the same.

Well its working again... the only thing that I've done in the meantime is to
create a couple of additional pages based on the template. After having created
these I went back and did some further cganhes to a navigation bar on the
template... and now everything is working normally.

Just one of those things I guess...

Thanks for the help Murray.
