Author Opening a directory of 1500+ PDFs

In Dreamweaver MX is there a way to open a network directory and view the
contents? I have a directory on the corporate network that contains 1500+
documents. I would like to be able to read the directory - like using Windows
Explorer - and be able to click on a PDF and open it. I can do it by zipping
the 1500 files and using the zipped file at the URL. I don't think
downloading a 132MB file each time is the right way to go.

you could do exactly so if your server does support php(i'm pretty sure other
support too). If so, you actually make use of the compression function in it to
generate a zip file on the server end and download it. But i do not think dw
could do such a job for you such as to zip all files on the server.

Thank you, but having a 132MB file and downloading it each time someone opens
the DW application is not good use of the network. I need to be able to view
the contents of the directory within the DW application in a similar manner to
when you open Windows Explorer to view the files on a network drive.
