Does it save a step to use DW's FTP?

| I still do things by creating the pages or whichever and then uploading them with an FTP Program.
Would using DW's upload feature save me a step?
Are there any disadvantages (such as issues because of use of other editors) of using this feature? | |

As everything is integreated in one program and just one mouse click away I
would go with Dreamweaver.

The most annoying problem is that hidden files on the server (eg. .htaccess)
are not recognized by Dreamweaver and uploaded again and again. Apart from
that I didn't experience any problems.

| That shouldn't be a problem with my .htaccess. I uploaded that separately (it is not located in the local website folder) just because I can't see it on the server.
