Javascript error disables File Menu in DW6.1
|
|
| dthomasmaddox 2004-08-22, 7:15 pm |
| When I attempt to open the File menu, I get the following message:
"The following JavaScript error occurred. Unable to open script file
"File_Saveas_Template.js"
This is DW 6.1 (education edition) on Windows XP Home (SP2, not that that
matters, because this has happened for months on SP1).
Help???

| I have no extensions installed. I did have some at one time, but I can't tell you which. However, Macromedia Extension Manager shows none.

| I think you will need to reinstall DW, then. And remember to update to 6.1
when you do (if your install puts you back to the 6.0 level). Reinstalling
in SAFE mode would be a good thing, too, so that there are no drivers or AV
in the way....

| Okay, I'll try that--though I *have* uninstalled before (though I didn't
reinstall in safe mode.), with no change. By the way, do you know if I have to
go back and use up my last remaining DW install in order to do this?
Thanks,
Tom

| Retail DW installs are not tracked.

| I find if I just open a dreamweaver file already done the issue goes away
until you quit and restart the program. Little annoying but it seems to fix
the problem

| Uninstalling and rebooting in safe mode and reinstalling did it. I also
wouldn't rule out the factor that I had the uninstaller trash alll my DW
preferences, site definitions, &c. But I have my File menu back! Thanks very
much.
