The correct approach to your problem would be
1. select the PHP_ADODB server model
2. create a new file in this site (the PHP_ADODB files are marked with a
small comment to help us understand that this is our file)
3. Create a database connection (Application tab in the right side/Database)
4. In the connection window, please select PostgreSQL
You should also try to do the PHAkt tutorial - it's based on postgresql.
