Hi.

I have managed to get my first site up and running mainly by using design
view. My site is : www.casapomar.co.uk

I know from using browser check that there are a number of warnings but I
thought these were to do with lesser known browsers. Apparently the site has a
few problems but I am not sure what they are because I only know how to view it
locally using explorer. Does anyone know how I can view the site using
different browsers on my own machine? And is there an obvious bit of code that
I'm doing wrong or is that there are too many issues to narrow it down?

Here you can download Firefox and Mozilla (Camino too if you use a Mac)
http://www.mozilla.org/
By the way: I avoid to use IE to navigate, Firefox and Mozilla are double
faster. Safari is faster but not double faster. I avoid to use Opera (I think
this browser has some problem and to me the Opera is still where the fat lady
sings)

Hi,
I checked with IE6, NN7.1, Opera 7.01 and Mozilla Firebird 0.7.
They pretty much look the same in all of them and I got no error messages.

There is a picture on the welcome page that has a wrong path specified:
Pomar/Images/pomar2.jpg
It doesn't load.

Strangely, Opera doesn't display the image on the top right side "The
Villa". ... but it loaded after I right-clicked it and selected "show image".

Also, the spacing between the flash buttons on the left is a bit
inconsistent. That seems to be the case because for some rows, you
specified 44, for one 48 and nothing for others.

For testing purposes, I have all these browsers installed on my machine. I
have another machine with old versions of NN and IE and AOL, and then I
have a little old Mac to test sites on.

That's what I do to check sites. And then I also ask this forum ;-)

Cheers
Marion

Thanks, yes Opera warnings seemed to be popping up every second line and as I
have never heard of it I chose to ignore it, but there are obviously other
issues as well unfortunately.

I'll get those browsers downloaded.

Marion

Thanks, I could have sworn I had corrected the path for the picture on the
front page. I'll do it again.

I have been told that the left hand side navigation is not loading, perhaps
the rows heights specified are the reason, (caused by using design view) I'll
look at the code and make sure all the values are the same.

Cheers

Sorry guys I can imagine some of these probs are hard work for you to keep
sorting out when they seem obvious. I'm trying to sort the picture out that
appears to be just a case of not being loaded up to the server but it isnt that
simple for some reason.
