Have you looked at the 'flexible table' tutorial?

That will teach you to build a layout that will stretch or contract
depending on the window size of the browser.

From your posts, I'm not sure if you are using a CSS styled layout or
tables. If tables, you need to insert your cursor in the cell containing
the table with pics and set the vertical alignment to top (in the property
inspector).

You may want to consider using a nested table scenario, so that your navbar
doesn't break apart in the left cell.
