I used to use DW MX on a Mac and had built a site that could be administered
with Contribute. I could send connection keys etc. just fine without having to
install Contribute on my computer. Now after upgrading to MX 2004, it tells me
I need to have Contribute installed to be able to administer my Contribute
Site. Is this true? Did Macromedia remove the ability to work with Contribute
in Dreamweaver without having to install it? I wasn't planning on buying
Contribute for my Mac, we only bought it for the Windows users who need to
update the site. Anyone have any info on this??

Yes, you now you have to fork out the extra $$$ for Contribute to administer
it.
