Huh? This only happens with template child pages, and not with un-templated
pages? If so, then something else is wrong. The only difference between
these two kinds of pages is the presence of some HTML comment tags.

It cannot. Dreamweaver templates are design-time tools. This means that
you can only update pages in your local site, from within Dreamweaver. All
changed pages must then be uploaded to the server after each change.
